Class Suspensions Declared in these Area for Friday (October 21, 2022)

WALANG PASOK – Various local government units have declared classes suspensions in several areas for Friday (October 21, 2022).

Over the past few days, Tropical Depression Obet has been lashing different parts of the country with strong winds and rains. The weather disturbance also brings inclement weather condition over parts of the country.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Obet has been last spotted at 335 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph.

Class Suspensions

The state weather bureau has also raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 in Batanes, Babuyan and northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan.

On Friday morning, several LGUs have declared class suspensions in some areas due to the inclement weather condition brought by Tropical Depression Obet.

Here is the list of areas covered by the suspesion of classes:

Cagayan

  • Claveria (Preschool to Senior High)
  • Sanchez Mira (Preschool to Senior High)
  • Santa Praxedes (Preschool to Senior High)
  • Aparri (Preschool to College)
  • Ballesteros (Preschool to College)

Automatic Suspension based on DepEd Order No. 37, s. 2022 (Public Schools from Pre-school to Senior High)

  • Gonzaga
  • Santa Ana

Calanasan, Apayao

Calanasan Mayor Shamir Bulut issued Memorandum Circular No. 2022-012 declaring the cancellation of classes to give way to the celebration of Binangonan Town Fiesta.
