Batangas Town Mayor Declares Class Suspensions in Various Areas From October 18-21, 2022 Due to HFMD
Batangas Town Mayor Antonio Dimayuga has declared class suspensions in various schools from October 18-21, 2022.
Around 100 students have suffered from hand, foot, and mouth disease or HFMD in the town of San Pascual, Batangas. 56 children were experiencing fever and other symptoms, according to Municipal Administrator Atty. Sherwin Barola.
The HFMD causes fever, rashes, and wounds in both hands and feet.
Municipal Mayor Antonio Dimayuga has declared the suspension of classes from daycare to grade 3 level starting October 18 until 21, 2022 due to the increased number of kids suffering from the disease.
The class cancellations cover the following areas:
- Pook Ni Kapitan
- Pook Ni Banal,
- Resplandor
- Natunuan North
- Antipolo
- Mataas Na Lupa
- Sambat
- Sto. Niño
The Rural Health Unit and the Department of Education in San Pascual are now working to stop the spread of HFMD among young children. The local government units will conduct disinfection in various schools.
