Maricar Reyes shared details of her personal struggles in her book
Actress Maricar Reyes recalled the controversy she had to face and go through back in 2009 and she said that this is the darkest part of her life.
Maricar released a book that tackled how she handled that dark past. On her official website, it was stated that the said controversy destroyed her reputation. For several years, the actress remained silent.
She believes that “speaking out back then would do more harm than good.” Maricar wants to share her story now to help those devastated women who also went through the same situation. However, the actress stressed that it is not a “tell-all” book.
Maricar Reyes focused on her long journey and process of healing. She also wants women to know that they are not alone in their struggles. “There is always hope and a way out of any dark situation,” she stated.
Although the actress did not specifically mention the controversy back in 2009, showbiz fans can recall that it was during her time when her name was involved in a scandal.
Based on the article in Bandera, it took more than a decade for Maricar to finally open up about this. “It took a long time from 2009 to the start of when that thing happened to me publicly, until 2022. It took 12 years for me to write this book,” she said.
It was a long process for her but the actress stressed that there is really a process. She also reminded everyone who is going through the same situation to not be hard on themselves. “Kasi ako nga 12 years bago ako naging okay enough to really talk about it,” she said.
In an Instagram post, Maricar Reyes said that what happened in 2009 was a crisis that changed her life. She is hoping that through her book people would be inspired to find the light when they are in the darkest part of their lives.
