Aiko Melendez talked about her new project with Beauty Gonzalez
Actresses Aiko Melendez and Beauty Gonzalez were “magkatapat” in the past and now they are working with each other on this one project.
In 2019, Aiko’s Kapuso series Prima Donna was aired in the same time slot as Beauty’s Kapamilya series Kadenang Ginto. Now, they are together in the Kapuso series The Flower Sisters, the third installment of Mano Po Legacy.
However, in this new series, Aiko and Beauty’s characters are still “magkatapat.” “Itong pagbabalik ko po sa show business, blessing po dahil nakatrabaho ko si Beauty. Like I’ve said, I’m very open about it, magkatapat kasi dati yung show namin, Prima Donnas at ang Kadenang Ginto. And then, yung karakter namin dito sa Mano Po 3, magkatapat,” Aiko Melendez said, based on the article in PEP.
Beauty said that in real life, she and Aiko are not “magkatapat” because she was able to find friendship with the older actress. The former Pinoy Big Brother housemate plays the younger sister of Aiko in this series.
The Quezon City 5th District Councilor shared that she somehow feels pressured because of her character Lily. This series is a production venture of Regal Entertainment Inc. and GMA Network Inc.
Aiko Melendez’s character in the series is Lily. Mother Lily Monteverde is the Regal matriarch. She said that she is one of the original Regal babies or stars who started their careers under Regal.
“Kaya the mere fact na ang pangalan ko po dito ay Lily, nakaka-pressure po, although hindi naman po ganyan ang ugali ni Mother Lily. May mga eksena po na ginaya namin si Mother Lily,” Aiko said.
Meanwhile, the actress said that she is happy to be back to acting after the election season. She is also ecstatic that she is able to do her duty as a Councilor while doing her showbiz engagements.
