PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (October 14)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Neneng will bring heavy rains over some parts of the country.

On Friday (October 14, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. the trough or extension of Tropical depression Neneng will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression “Neneng” has been last spotted 965 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Neneng will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Samar Provinces, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, and Marinduque.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas, and Occidental Mindoro.

“Yung trough ng kaulapan na dala ni Neneng ay umaabot sa bahagi ng Quezon province, dito sa Bicol region, sa Biliran, Samar provinces, pati na rin sa ibang bahagi ng Mimaropa, particular na sa Marinduque at Romblon. Asahan natin na ngayong umaga pa lang, may kaulapan na tayo at kalat-kalat na pag-ulan,” Pagasa weather forecaster Daniel James Villamil said.

The tropical depression is expected to move west-southwestward in the next 24 hours before turning westward on Saturday (October 15, 2022).

The weather agency has also warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
