Kim Chiu has a new movie with Xian Lim
Chinita Princess Kim Chiu was asked in a recent interview if she is willing to do more mature roles now.
Kim has been playing wholesome roles in movies and teleseryes. Her past projects with her real-life partner Kapuso actor Xian Lim were mostly romantic comedies. The last movie that they did together was All You Need is Pag-ibig back in 2015. Their new movie Always, an adaptation of the Korean movie with the same title is more dramatic.
For the Filipino version, the movie was adapted to screenplay by award-winning writer Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario. This is directed by Dado C. Lumibao. In the movie, Kim portrays the character of a blind woman while Xian’s character is a former boxer and a mysterious, sad-looking man
In a previous interview, Kim said that her reunion movie Xian is their gift for the KimXi fandom. Over the years, fans have supported them and even their individual projects. Kim is also supportive of Xian’s career as a director.
During the premiere night of their movie, based on the article in The Philippine Star, the actress was asked if she is ready to embrace more mature roles. “Matured, mas matured. Tignan natin. Depende naman sa story. Parang itong ‘Always’ ano lang ‘to, kalma lang,” Kim Chiu answered.
Meanwhile, aside from being an actress and a host in It’s Showtime, there is one role that Kim is taking seriously right now and it is being a supportive aunt to the baby of Angelica Panganiban with her partner Gregg Homan.
Just recently, Angelica shared that she has been receiving a lot of gifts from Kim. The two actresses are close friends. Angelica jokingly said that Kim might ask for her baby in exchange for all the gifts that the latter gave.
