Desperate Mom Who Got Jailed for Stealing Colostomy Bags for Sick Child Receives Help from BJMP
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology helped a desperate mom who steals numerous colostomy bags for her sick child.
Last month, the police authorities arrested a desperate woman for stealing P600 worth of colostomy bags from a popular pharmacy in the country. She stole the medical items for her one-year-old child.
The suspect’s partner gets emotional and bursts into tears while praying that his child’s intestines would be put back in place. The female thief has no choice but to steal colostomy bags because she had no money.
The poor lady was just using a plastic bag to hold her baby’s intestines. The culprit’s story touched the hearts of the netizens.
Recently, BJMP Valenzuela employees gathered some amount of cash to buy colostomy bags for the sick child. The kind-hearted police officers also donated grocery products for the suspect’s family.
“Bilang BJMP po, responsibilidad po naming na makipag-ccordinate sa iba’t-ibang agency na pwede pong makatulong sa kanila para makapagbagong buhay,” BJMP Valenzuela Jail Officer Joan Marie Pasco said.
BJMP also coordinates with PRESO Inc., a foundation that helps first-time offenders. The foundation aims to collect at least P20, 000 to pay the woman’s bail. The suspect has been detained at the female dormitory of Valenzuela City Jail for almost a month.
“PRESO foundation po ang magpipiyansa sa kanila wala po silang gagastusin ni singko. Kami po ang bahala,” a foundation crew said.
