Deniece Cornejo Statement on Vhong Navarro's Detention

Model Deniece Cornejo refused to be interviewed but she has this statement regarding actor-host Vhong Navarro‘s detention.

On September 19, Vhong surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation following the warrant of arrest that the Taguig Metropolitan Court issued against him for acts of lasciviousness case. The recommended bail was P36,000. However, he was still detained because, on the same day, the warrant of arrest for the rape case was issued.

Amid this controversy that started eight years ago, Vhong insisted on his innocence. His lawyer, Atty, Alma Mallonga said that the It’s Showtime host is the real victim in this situation. Vhong Navarro and his legal counsel said that they are on the side of the truth.

Atty. Mallonga even claimed that the complaint filed against her client was used by Deniece Cornejo to extort money with the help of businessman Cedric Lee. In a recent interview, Cedric said that Vhong has to face all the charges against him just like they did years ago.

The businessman also said that he feels vindicated after the actor-host was arrested. Deniece’s reaction was tried to be asked as well regarding the incarceration of Vhong. Based on the Twitter post of ABS-CBN Niko Baua, the model refused to be interviewed. However, she gave her statement on Vhong’s detention.

“Kung ako instrument upang maging ehemplo sa mga kababaihan na maging matatag sa naabuso, nasasaktan at nasasamantalahan. Paglalaban ko at paninindigan,” Deniece Cornejo said.
