Vhong Navarro received support from his friends amid his legal battle
Streetboys started the “We Stand With Vhong” movement to show support for It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro amid the rape case filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo.
On September 19, the Taguig Metropolitan Court issued an arrest warrant against Vhong for acts of lasciviousness case filed by Deniece. He voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and posted bail for the amount of Php 36,000.00.
However, another warrant of arrest signed by Judge Loralie C. Datahan of Taguig-RTC Branch 69 was served later that day. This is in line with the rape case filed by Deniece. Since there was no bail that was recommended, the actor-host was detained.
Amid this issue, Vhong Navarro received support from his fellow Streetboys member. He belonged to the popular dance group during the 90s and early 2000s. Along with the “We Stand With Vhong” movement, they also made the hashtags #WeBelieveVhong and #JusticeForVhong trend on social media, based on the article in PEP.
“Let’s all unite & share this thread to show our support to brother Vhong Navarro. We need your help na mabigyan sya ng hustisya. Matagal namin kakilala si Vhong at naniniwala kaming buong grupo na s’ya ay inosente,” the Streetboys Family stressed.
Meanwhile, Vhong expressed that he was surprised that the arrest warrant was issued against him as he insisted on his innocence. Amid the resurrection of the legal battle between him and Deniece, the Kapamilya star said that he has forgiven her already.
However, Vhong Navarro said that there was no effort from both camps to settle this issue privately. He said that he does not want to have a settlement in which a condition will be imposed like he will do a public apology.
