Vince Tañada Files Cyber Libel Case Against Juliana Segovia

Vince Tañada Formally Files Cyber Libel Case vs Juliana Parizcova Segovia

Director Atty Vince Tañada formally files a cyber libel charge against the comedian Juliana Parizcova Segovia.

The filmmaker of the film “Katips,” Atty. Vince Tañada said that he has filed a lawsuit against comedian Juliana Parizcova Segovia for cyber libel. A report claims that Tañada declared that even his co-producers in “Katips” are lawyers, which is why they refused to sign a contract promising not to sue Segovia.

“Our co-producers in this film are also lawyers, so they were hurt because what Juliana Parizcova said was indeed libelous. All I know is that they have already filed it with the fiscal and we are just waiting for the decision about that,” said the director.

It may be noted that on August 3, Tañada threatened to sue Segovia over the comedian’s criticism of his film, despite the fact that Segovia isn’t a member of Maid in Malacaang, Katips’ main opponent. Segovia also shared a post in which the comedian appears to be debating Tañada’s FAMAS awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor.

Segovia claims he doubted this since Tañada directed the 69th FAMAS awards ceremony in December 2021. Tañada, on the other hand, hoped not to demonstrate in his interview with DZRH that news reports are not always accurate.

“Sana naman po, huwag po tayong mamihasa na hindi totoo lagi yung mga binabalita. Kasi, iyan na po tayo nagiging kultura na po tayo ng fake news. Lalung-lalo na po yung mga nagpapakalat ay meron na po talagang imahe na puro peke ang mga ikinakalat na mga balita. Sana po, magkaroon na po ng aral yung mga nagpapakalat na ‘yan,” he said.
