Is it true that Toni Gonzaga received this amount as a talent fee from AMBS?
AMBS President Maribeth Tolentino reacted to the rumors that Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga received P500 million as a talent fee from Manny Villar‘s media company.
Following the resignation from being the main host of Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother, rumors already circulated that Toni will transfer to AMBS, the media company that acquired the frequencies previously given to ABS-CBN.
Early this month, the actress-host officially signed a contract with AMBS together with her husband filmmaker Paul Soriano. Following this, it was rumored that Villar’s company paid half a billion pesos to Toni Gonzaga as her talent fee.
However, based on the article in Abante, the company’s President, Ms. Maribeth Tolentino, denied that they paid the Ultimate Multimedia Star with this kind of amount.
When asked about talent fees, Tolentino said that she is not in a position to say something about this. “Mahirap magsalita tungkol sa talent fee. Very confidential ‘yan. Hindi ‘yan pinag-uusapan. Siguro, si Toni na lang ang dapat tanungin sa ganiyan,” the TV executive said.
Tolentino has this answer when she was asked if Toni Gonzaga was paid that amount. “Hindi naman ganun kalaki!” she said.
Meanwhile, the TV executive admitted that they still need to do a lot of things in order to have a smooth broadcast. She said that hopefully, everything will be in its place by February next year.
On the other hand, she is sure that there were a lot of people who watched the launch last September 13 and one of the reasons for this was Toni. “Yes, si Toni kilalang-kilala na. So, paglipat niya sa amin, inabangan siya. Hindi kami nahirapan,” Tolentino said.
The AMBS President also noted that Willie Revillame also has a huge number of followers. She also shared that they have negotiated with Korina Sanchez and negotiations with Ruffa Gutierrez, Aga Muhlach-Charlene Gonzales, Richard Gomez, and Lucy Torres for their kids to be in one show are still undergoing.
