Sen. Bam Aquino wanted Filipinos to be vigilant about the country’s funds
Showbiz personalities have expressed support for the call of Sen. Bam Aquino to closely monitor the bicameral conference committee’s deliberations on the P1.38-trillion education fund in the 2026 national budget.
Aquino came from a prominent political clan. He is the nephew of the late Senator Ninoy Aquino. He served as a senator for several terms already.
The politician is well supported by prominent figures in the entertainment industry, such as talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz, who said in a social media post that he would like to support the tandem of Aquino with Sen. Risa Hontiveros in the 2028 elections.
Sen. Bam Aquino once again received the support of social media personalities for his recent statement regarding the corruption issue in the Philippines.
The politician urged Filipinos to guard the trillions of pesos allotted for the education budget.
Among these showbiz personalities were actor Edu Manzano, stand-up comedian Alex Calleja, rapper Pio Balbuena, hip-hop band Morobeats, artist Andrea Guevarra, and Drag Race Philippines winner Brigiding.
Through a post on his Facebook page, Edu said that heightened monitoring is equivalent to protecting the budget from corruption and questionable projects, based on the article in Bandera.
“LIVESTREAM ANG BICAM. Ilang tulog na lang bago Pasko, ang Christmas wish ko: huwag bawasan yung education budget ni Senator Bam! #EdukasyonHindiKorapsyon,” the veteran actor said.
Alex Calleja also supported Aquino’s call, as he commented that ff there is anything to focus on in the public fund, Filipinos should keep an eye on Senator Bam’s education budget. “Huwag hayaan mabawasan sa darating na bicam,” the comedian said.
For Pio Balbuena, the senator has fulfilled his duty, and the rest of the country should take part in watching over the education budget, so that it will be used properly until no more students are left hanging around.
Andrea Guevarra called on her family, friends, and followers to monitor the bicam livestream. She said that this is an opportunity to ensure that the education budget remains intact.
Morobeats cited the need to protect the education budget to maintain the P65 billion fund for classroom construction. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Brigiding said, “Malapit na mag 2026. National Budget!!! Please wag magic-in ang pondo ng bayan, protektahan ang budget para sa edukasyon, bantayan natin kasama ni [Bam Aquino].”
