Everything, at first, was controversial. But years after, when most people were finally able to move forward, Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto finally speaks. As much as many are aware, she became the most controversial when she became Gerald Anderson’s girlfriend.
She received intense accusations, was named by offensive names, and was even dragged to many issues. But amid the grueling situation, she maintained her silence and she has her reasons for her silence.
In an interview with Karen Davila, during the peak of the issue, she was very busy with her house which was then under construction. Also, she did not know her place in the issue back then. She felt like if there was anything that should be fixed, it should be done by the other two people involved without her.
And speaking about her relationship now with Anderson, she expressed that she felt safe and secure in this relationship. He created a safe and healthy environment in her life and he always makes sure that she feels secure.
One of the questions asked of her was: Do you trust him that he will not hurt you?
With honesty, Julia answered: “I don’t think I’ll ever get into a relationship with somebody I don’t trust. So, I do trust him and he shows me that every single day. There’s just no reason for me to doubt.”
In the same interview, Julia also set the record straight about the split rumors. She clarified that they have never broken up.
Compared to her other relationships, her relationship with Anderson served her some sense of security, calmness, and kindness that grounded her. He brought something that motivated her to become a better person.
