The video footage of a jeepney driver arguing with a modernized jeepney driver due to passengers elicits reactions online.
Over the past decades, jeepney has been one of the most common transport vehicles in the Philippines. A lot of people prefer to take jeepneys to reach their point of destination for offering affordable fare.
The Public Utility Vehicle Modernization (PUVM) Program of the Philippines aims to transform the road sector of public transport through the introduction of safer and climate-friendly vehicles, improved regulation, and industry consolidation.
Unfortunately, traditional jeepney drivers expressed their disappointment with the new measure. Some of them were even opposing the new program and criticizing the drivers of modernized jeepneys.
A Facebook user named Assiren Jamora has shared video footage of a jeepney driver having an argument with a modernized jeepney driver. The video immediately spread like a wildfire online and earns reactions from the netizens.
In the video, it can be seen that two jeepney drivers were having an exchange of heated arguments due to passengers. A modernized jeepney driver is giving his side of the story but the traditional jeep driver repeatedly scolds him.
The argument between the two PUV drivers lasts for a couple of minutes. The traditional jeepney driver repeatedly criticized his fellow driver after the passengers choose to ride in the new vehicle.
