Janine Gutierrez shared something about her “pre-makeover” days
Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez admitted that she was “mahiyain” before because of her appearance.
Janine is indeed one of the beautiful faces in showbiz now. Her beauty is being admired by many not just her award-winning talent in acting. Coming from a beautiful showbiz clan, it is not a thing to wonder about when her beauty is also mesmerizing.

However, during her younger years, Janine admitted that she was conscious of her looks. She shared about this in a recent guesting on Magandang Buhay, based on the article in Bandera. āGrowing up ano eh, napanood niyo āyung āPrincess Diariesā (movie ni Anne Hathaway) āyung bago siya mag-make-over? Ganuān āyung itsura ko, āyung pre-makeover na āPrincess Diaries.ā” the actress shared.
Janine Gutierrez was talking about her curly hair and thick eyebrows. Her hair looked like a hairstyle during the 80s, the era of her mother Lotlot de Leon. When it comes to the eyebrows, she got them from her dad Monching Gutierrez.
The actress recalled being a shy kid because of this. She also shared that during a class picture when she was in Grade 3 since her hair was short and curly, half of the girl’s face behind her was covered. āSo pinahaba ko na lang tapos everyday naka-pony ako, tapos pomada, banat ganyan, kasi nahihiya ako,” she said.
The fact that commercial models only have straight hair back then, added to her being “mahiyain” because her hair was different. However, now, it is a different case. Janine said that she is proud of her thick eyebrows. It is because this is the “in” thing now among female celebrities. Gone are those days that the fad was the thin eyebrows for women.
Then, Janine Gutierrez said that she agreed with Momshie Regine Velasquez when she said that sometimes, the thing that makes you insecure will be your signature in the future.
