Sen. JV Ejercito Contracts COVID-19

JV EJERCITO – The Senator announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 joining the list of senators who contracted the disease.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reminded countries several times that the pandemic is not yet over. The reminders came amid several nations easing their quarantine measures following the drop in their COVID cases.

According to World Health, the pandemic is not over in any place if it is not over everywhere across the globe. The international body recently stressed that it is “nowhere near over”. Vaccinations and the giving of booster shots are ongoing in several nations.

In the Philippines, the national government is planning to extend the State of Health Emergency declaration in the country. The COVID cases increased a few weeks after the Elections 2022. The Alert Level System is retained with regards to the restrictions implemented across the nation.

Recently, several government officials including senators tested positive for COVID-19. Sen. JV Ejercito is one of the latest senators who joined the list.

In a post on Twitter, Sen. JV Ejercito shared that he had his RT-PCR Test taken Friday morning and the result was sent to him late at night of the same day. According to the Senator, he has no symptoms of the disease.

Sen. Ejercito is just one of the several senators who contracted the disease. Previously, senators Imee Marcos, Cynthia Villar, and Grace Poe tested positive for the virus. Sen. Nancy Binay also recently tested positive for the disease.

Individuals who will test positive for COVID-19, even if they are fully vaccinated and have received their booster shot, must be in isolation for at least 7 days. The national government and the health department continue to urge the public to get vaccinated and boosted against the virus.
