Missing 16-Year-Old Boy Found Dead Inside a 40-Foot Deep Hole in EDSA
Missing 16-year old boy who has been missing for days has been found dead inside a 40-feet deep hole excavation at the center island in near Bansalingin Street, Quezon City, Wednesday Afternoon, August 17.
Raniel Reano, who was been reported missing for four days since Friday August 12.
Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-SRU) recovered the body of Raniel Reano, on the center island in a 40-foot deep hole after various attempts.
Staff Sgt. George Caculba of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU), ask the help of the BFP-SRU to retrieve the body of Reano.
The victim’s parents informed the Barangay Village officials that they found the boy body in the hole around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.
According to GMA News, the search and rescue team started the operation to recover the body at around 10:40 a.m., after 3 hours of operation at around 1:41 p.m. they recovered the body.
“Nahirapan po ‘yung ating search and rescue sa pag-retrieve ng biktima dahil po sa oxygen, mabaho po kasi sa loob kasi bloated na po ‘yung patay. At the same time, iniiwasan po ng search and rescue unit na ano, dahil bloated nga po ‘yung biktima baka matanggal po ‘yung parts ng body niya” Caculba said.

The Quezon Police District Criminal Investigation and Detention Unit (QCPD-CIDU) is now conducting an investigation on how the victim fell on the hole.
In a report, base from the investigator that the victim fell on the hole, they believe that he possible accidentally fell while he is getting the water from the whole.
The Bf Corporation, the contractor of the construction project, will be liable for the incident as identified by the QCPD CIDU.
In a report, the BF Corporation will secure and ensure the public for their safety, in the other hand, the company condoled with the family and vowed to offer assistance.
