A Bb Pilipinas 2022 judge caught the attention of pageant fans because of his fashion choice
Bb Pilipinas 2022 Judge – Cecilio Asuncion, founder and model director of Slay Model Management which is based in Los Angeles, California raised eyebrows after he was seen wearing shorts during the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 coronation night.
Pageant or coronation night is an event that does not only showcase candidates’ wardrobes. At some points, this has become a fashion showcase also for the attendees, guests, and VIPs. During these kinds of events, women are expected to wear long gowns and men would wear a suit or barong Tagalog.
However, in Cecilio Asuncion’s case, it was different. He wore a barong Tagalog as his top and it was paired with shorts. His look was completed by black high socks and burgundy Dr. Martens shoes. This garnered questions from netizens who watched the pageant. Some think that it was inappropriate for him to wear that outfit as a Bb. Pilipinas 2022 judge.
Based on his recent Facebook post, Asuncion answered the questions of netizens regarding his coronation night outfit. He said that it was to showcase the creation of Filipino designers. “Sa lahat na nagtatanong bakit ako naka shorts, ito ay dahil pinili kong magsuot ng gawa ng pinoy na designer na si Avel Bacudio na mula sa tela na galing sa Mindanao at ang bag ko naman ay gawa ni Zarah Juan,” Asuncion said.
In the same post, the pageant judge praised Bb. Pilipinas 2022 1st runner-up Herlene Budol for answering his question in Tagalog. Before the pageant night, the former Wowowin host has stated that she intends to answer in the language with which she is comfortable. Asuncion was the one who asked her and the pageant judge was satisfied by her answer.
Before ending his post, the Bb Pilipinas 2022 judge reiterated his message to those who are criticizing his outfit that night. “Sa mga bumabatikos sa pagpili ko ng suot ko, sana magsumikap kayo at balang araw, ma-invite rin kayo mag judge. Love you, mean it!” Asuncion said.
