PAGASA Says 2 LPAs to Bring Rainshowers Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that two low-pressure areas will bring rain showers over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (July 27, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. Two low-pressure areas will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that one LPA has been spotted at 845 km East of Itbayat, Batanes and the other one was spotted at 235 km West Northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

“Ngunit inaasahan natin na ngayong araw magdudulot ito ng maulap na kalangitan at kalat kalat na pagulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat sa ilang bahagi ng Luzon, partikular ng Northern Luzon,” weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The low-pressure area will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Benguet.

The entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition due to the intertropical convergence zone.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over northern Luzon and the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
