Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz and her coach Julius Naranjo went to Baguio for their honeymoon but they were obliged to leave their hotel room because of a strong earthquake.
Hidilyn and Julius’s wedding was a star-studded event. Many of the weightlifter’s fans also expressed happiness for her and her now-husband Julius. However, their moment alone as a couple was disturbed by the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that hit Abra on July 27.

The athlete also shared a photo with her husband outside the hotel where they were staying. She simply captioned her post “Earthquake”.
Based on the article in PEP, several netizens shared posts on social media joking about the honeymoon of Hidilyn Diaz and Julius Naranjo. There were those who said that the strong quake was caused by the newlywed couple.
“Hidilyn at Julius, hinay-hinay po sa honeymoon. You have nothing to prove. The whole country knows how strong you both are. Best wishes po,” a netizen posted on Facebook. On Instagram, the weightlifter shared a post from a netizen asking if she and her husband caused the strong earthquake. “@imjulius @hidilyndiaz Was that you two, getting raunchy?” the netizen asked and the weightlifter apparently just laughed at this.
Meanwhile, in an interview before the wedding, Hidilyn explained why she and Julius chose to have celebrities in their entourage such as Judy Anne Santos, Iza Calzado, and Angel Locsin. She said that it is because they consider these celebrities as their inspiration in life to become better people and they want those who would give them good advice.
