Hidilyn Diaz is getting married
Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz revealed the reason why she chose to have celebrities for her wedding entourage.
The athlete is set to marry her coach and longtime boyfriend Julius Naranjo on July 26 at the St. Ignatius Church inside the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City.
The couple recently shared photos of their prenuptial photo shoot. Hidilyn and Julius’s wedding entourage features several famous names in the entertainment industry.
Famous actresses Angel Locsin, Judy Ann Santos, and Iza Calzado are part of the wedding entourage, as well as Kapuso journalist Atom Araulio. Theater star Arman Ferrer is the wedding singer, based on the article in Inquirer.
When asked why her wedding entourage features several celebrities, Hidilyn Diaz said that they want to draw inspiration from the celebrities.
“We want the people present in our wedding to be those who will serve as our inspirations as we go through our marriage,” the Olympic medalist said.
She said that these people are their inspiration and hopefully, the couple can consult them whenever they will encounter problems in their married life.
Asked about her wedding look, Hidilyn said that she had no idea about the overall outcome. She was told that it is a surprise but she said that she wants her makeup to look fresh. When it comes to her hair, the athlete shared that she already sent her peg hairstyle to popular hairstylist Celeste Tuviera and she wants it to match her beautiful wedding gown created by famous Pinoy designer Francis Libiran.
For their wedding vows, Noel Ferrer, the manager of Hidilyn Diaz, said that Julius Naranjo does not want to write down his vows. It is because the coach said that the vow will just come out from the heart.
The Olympic medalist said, “We really need guidance in writing our vows. I’m afraid of what would come out of our mouths if we’re unprepared.”
Hidilyn quipped that their wedding guests can expect a surprise from them. “We will make all the guests lift weights,” she said.
