HIDILYN DIAZ – These are the awesome details of the beautiful wedding gown created by Francis Libiran for Hidilyn Diaz.
Weightlifters Hidilyn Diaz and Julius Naranjo are now married. They got married on the date exactly one year after Diaz won Olympic gold in Tokyo 2020 in weightlifting. It was a historic gold medal for them and for the country and they are celebrating it with their union.
Naranjo is Diaz’s conditioning coach and he was there all throughout her journey to get the Olympic medal. Before their wedding day, the couple held a welcome party for their guests in Baguio on Monday, July 25.
They thanked their invited guests for coming all the way to Baguio to witness their wedding.
And on their wedding day, Hidilyn was a radiant bride wearing a Francis Libiran creation. She wore an intricately-designed off-shoulder wedding gown. It has a sweetheart neckline, crystal embellishments, and wave-like details that went all the way down to the tail.
She carried with her a bouquet of flowers arranged by Gideon Hermosa. She had Juan Sarte for make-up and Celeste Tuviera for hair.
Libiran, the designer, said that he made sure that the gown will turn out just like the female weightlifter because she was his inspiration in doing it. He made sure that her gown will reflect her personality.
“So I got that inspiration from her. We made sure that the lines are simple, linear, to make her look taller and slimmer,” says the designer. Hidilyn was a happy bride wearing her gown.
For her husband, Libiran used embroidered design patterns from Guam and the Philippines.
