Hidilyn Diaz Takes PH’s First Olympics Gold, Celebs React To Her Win

Famous celebs congratulate Hidilyn Diaz for her win in this year’s Olympics.

HIDILYN DIAZ – Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz receives congratulatory messages from famous celebrities over her victory.

The Filipinos and the whole country are celebrating as Hidilyn Diaz has won the first-ever gold medal for the Philippines. History has been made! Cheers and celebrations erupted online for the Pinay who brought pride to the country during the Tokyo 2020. She is a silver medalist in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

She cleaned up a total of 224 kilograms, 97 kg for snatch and an Olympic record 127 kg. Her historic win made her bag a total cash prize of Php 33 million coming from Manny Pangilinan and Ramon Ang who vowed to give Php 10 million each and Php 3 million from Deputy Speaker of the House Mikee Romero. Also, the Olympic Gold is worth Php 10 million. Apart from that, Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Tolentino said to give house and lot to every athlete who will bag the gold.


And after sacrificing a lot, the 30-year-old gold medalist plans to eat a lot after her victory and go home and celebrate with the people who stayed behind her in her journey. She told AFP at the Tokyo International Forum, “I’m looking forward to enjoy life because I have been in Malaysia for, I don’t know, almost 2 years so I’m really thankful I can go home now and celebrate with my family and the people who support me.”
