Vico Sotto wants to keep this aspect of his personal life private
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto revealed the reason why, as much as possible, he is refusing to answer questions about his love life.
Mayor Vico, even though he is in politics, is still attached to showbiz. After all, he is the son of showbiz veterans Coney Reyes and Vic Sotto. Apparently, this is the reason why netizens and showbiz enthusiasts are curious about his love life and not just his political endeavors.
In a recent vlog interview by talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz, the young mayor was asked about the current status of his love life. He said that he has no love life right now and explained why he is not talking about this anymore.
Mayor Vico Sotto said that before becoming a public servant, people would ask him about his love life and he would answer them. However, his answer would go viral without his intention to make netizens rave about this.
Because of this, for him, the public’s attention is more focused on his personal life rather than on the projects that he is doing as a public servant. “May mga project tayo, hindi napapansin. Yung mga napapansin yung mga sagot ko sa ganung tanong,” he said.
With this, the young mayor said that he decided that by the end of 2019, he would no longer answer questions about his love life. Then, Ogie jokingly said, “sorry, natanong ko pa” and they both laughed.
Mayor Vico said that it is the reason why he is refusing to answer love life questions but it does not mean that he does not want to answer. He stressed that his life has been an open book and he is not being secretive. It is just that during his first months as the Pasig City Mayor, the focus of the people was more drawn to his relationship status.
For him, the topic about his love life was a “distraction.” “Baka isipin ng iba, puro ganun lang and ginagawa ko, nagpapa-cute lang tayo. Hindi naman tayo nandito para magpa-cute. Nandito tayo para magtrabaho,” Mayor Vico Sotto stressed.
