Ruffa Gutierrez highlights the former First Lady
Actress Ruffa Gutierrez shared this quote from former First Lady Imelda Marcos, the character she plays in the movie Maid in Malacanang.
Ruffa was the first cast member of the movie about the Marcoses that was announced by director-writer Darryl Yap. Following the announcement of her role in the movie, the daughter of showbiz veterans Annabelle Rama and Eddie Gutierrez expressed that she is honored to portray the former First Lady in the movie.
Ruffa Gutierrez shared in a previous interview that she received a piece of advice from her co-star award-winning actor Cesar Montano who plays former President Ferdinand Marcos in the movie.
In a recent Instagram post, the actress shared photos channeling her Imelda Marcos character. She was wearing a red terno with a silver design on the side. Her caption showcased a quote from the mother of President Bongbong Marcos.
“My projects – I did not make them only good and right, it had to be beautiful. Beauty is really the extravagance of love,” Madame Imelda Romualdez Marcos,’” the actress wrote and added a red heart emoji.
In the comment section, famous designer Rajo Laurel commented. He said that Ruffa indeed nailed the look. Rajo also thanked the actress for the trust and faith that she has given to him. Ruffa replied to this as she said that many people lauded the red terno created by him.
Several celebrities also shared their comments on Ruffa’s Imelda look. The actress also promoted the movie. “MAID IN MALACAÑANG showing in cinemas worldwide on August 3, 2022,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Ruffa Gutierrez shared in a recent interview on Vicki Belo’s YouTube channel that she sees no possibility of getting back together with her former husband Yilmaz Bektas. Just recently, her daughters Lorin and Venice had a reunion with their father. The actress said it was just a reunion between the father and their kids but between her and Yilmaz there was “no return of the comeback.”
