PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (July 9)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (July 9, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that a Low Pressure Area has been last spotted at 825 km East of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. The southwest monsoon will be affecting the western section of the country as well as Mindanao.

“Ang projection nitong LPA ay moving northwest in the next 2 to 3 days… In the 2nd or 3rd day, doon mas mataas ang tiyansa na ito ay maging bagyo… By Monday or Tuesday, makakaapekto na ito sa silangang bahagi ng bansa,” PAGASA weather forecaster Benny Estareja said.

The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM.

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon as well as the rest of Mindanao.

Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora will experience similar weather condition due to the habagat.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over western section of Southern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
