PAGASA Says PH To Experience Rainy Weather Condition Due to ITCZ & Localized Thunderstorms

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rains over several parts of the country.

On Wednesday (July 6, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area, which was last spotted at 365 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar on Tuesday evening. No other weather disturbances have been spotted outside the country’s vicinity.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula.

The ITCZ / Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“At sa kasalukuyan din, itong Intertropical Convergence Zone o ITCZ ang patuloy na umiiral sa bahagi ng Southern Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao kung saan expect pa din natin na magdudulot ito ng mga kalat kalat na pag-ulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The weather agency has also advised the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile the coastal water condition over the entire country will be slight to moderate.
