She said, “Why are people so gullible? I was at People Power, when the Marcos authoritarian family was ousted out of power. I was a student in De La Salle Zobel at the time living in Paranaque. Just coz a prior article is wrong doesn’t discredit my experience. Mga tanga!”

G Tongi has this tweet because of the reaction that she got for criticizing actress Ella Cruz who said that “History is like chismis.” Elle plays Irene Marcos in Maid in Malacañang movie that aims to tell the side of the Marcoses 72 hours before they left the Palace.

[Ella Cruz] actors don’t need to justify the villainy of their roles. I would to share with you how at 8 years old in 1986, I marched to the streets, along with countless others who r part of a history you are dismissing as here say. Wag nak’! It feels like erasure. Di Tama!” G said.

With her statement about being at EDSA at the age of 8 to rally against Marcos received criticisms from netizens. A netizen even showed an article published by Inquirer stating that she was raised by her mom in New York and only came to Manila when she was 15 years old.

With this, netizens pointed out that G Tongi was lying when she said that she marched against Marcos when she was just 8 years old. There was also a netizen who said that the actress could sue Inquirer for stating a different information from what she is claiming.
