Senator Robin Padilla led the the celebration of Eid’l Adha at Camp Karingal in Quezon City on July 9 and he gave this message to the Muslim community.

Padilla formerly believes the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses but eventually, he converted to Islam in which he adopted the name Abdul Aziz.

This year, the actor who is known as the Bad Boy of the Philippine Movies became the number one Senator. After 27 years, a Muslim is once again part of the Senate. Former Senator Santanina Rasul of Sulu served from 1987 to 1995.

In an event held for the celebration of Eid’l Adha on Saturday, Sen. Robin Padilla gave his message to the Muslim community. It is the second and biggest of the two main holidays celebrated in Islam. The event honors the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah’s command, as what Muslims believe.

Based on the report from One News PH, the neophyte lawmaker said that this is now the time for peace. “Mga kapatid ko, wala na pong lugar ang karahasan. Wala na. Peace na po ngayon, kapayapaan na. Ito na po ang pagkakataon para suminag ang napakalaking liwanag sa bawa’t Pilipino,” the Muslim Senator said.

Meanwhile, in a previous social media post, Sen. Robin Padilla said that his secret weapon in winning the elections and becoming the number one senator was the tandem of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo.

He said that he received a tremendous amount of support from PGMA and her husband during the election season. Padilla tagged the couple as “Hari at Reyna ng buong kampanya ko.”
