Vallacar Transit Inc. has released an official statement after the video of a Ceres bus accident in Dumaguete City goes viral.
On Tuesday (July 5, 2022), the disturbing video footage of a Ceres bus that accidentally rammed into the passenger area and run over some commuters immediately circulate online and garnered various reactions from social media users.
The video shows several passengers sitting at the waiting lounge when a Ceres bus suddenly rammed into the passenger area. The company employees immediately helped the victims who were trapped under the bus.
Two of the four wounded persons are admitted to the hospital while the remaining others have been discharged. Some children in the area also suffered injuries due to the incident, according to the reports.
The police authorities will continue to investigate the incident to determine the cause of the accident. The incident happened at Ceres Bus Terminal in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
On Wednesday (July 6, 2022), Vallacar Transit Inc., Dumaguete Branch released a statement regarding the viral accident. The company expressed its sympathy to the victims and their families.
The firm explained that the bus driver has been serving for fifteen years with no record of major accidents and was even awarded a “zero accident incentive”. Ceres Company also shouldered the medical expenses of the victims.
The management also assured the public that the victims are in stable condition now and on their way to recovery. The firm explained that the vehicle was not experiencing any malfunction during that time and the accident was probably due to human error.

“Vallacar Transit, Inc. is deeply saddened by the accident that occurred during the morning of July 5, 2022 at Dumaguete Ceres Terminal, Calindagan, Dumaguete City. The company sympathizes with the injured and their families.
The driver has been serving the company for fifteen years and has no record of major accidents. Prior to the accident, the said driver was awarded with a “zero accident incentive”.
We would like to assure the families and the riding public that we are taking care of the injured by covering the expenses of their medical treatment. They are now in a stable condition and the injuries are non-life threatening.
The management is making sure that all their needs are taken care of.
With the initial investigation, we found out that the unit involved in the accident was not experiencing any malfunction, and we would like to assure the riding public that this was only an isolated case.
The driver is now under the custody of the Dumaguete PNP and we will conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that all issues regarding this matter will be addressed in the most expeditious manner after his release from custody.
Again, our sincerest apologies to the families of the injured and the riding public for causing undue distress.
