In a recent interview by the Philippine Entertainment Portal, the rapper was asked the secret behind his longevity in the industry when his contemporaries in rapping did not last long in this field like Michael V.

Well, maybe ano, ahh… puwede ba akong magbuhat ng bangko? OK, ano’ yan, e. Nagtanim kasi ikaw o nagpondo ka ng mabuting pangalan,” Andrew E said.

He shared that when he was starting in showbiz someone advised him to always remember that a bad name will not bring him to stardom. “Kasi, kahit anong galing mo, kung dinungisan mo ang pangalan mo, hindi ka magtutuloy. Hindi ka magtutuloy,” the rapper stressed.

When asked if there was a time when he felt that he is no longer popular, he said that he never felt that he became “laos”.

“E, hindi naman ako malalaos, alam mo kung bakit?! Hindi naman ako naging uso, e!” the rapper said. He added that his songs became the “uso” or popular but not himself.

Andrew explained his statement. He said that the proof that he was not the one who became popular was the fact that there was no endorsement offer for him.
