PAGASA Says Easterlies & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (June 24)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Friday (June 24, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Easterlies will be affecting the eastern section of the country.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region and the provinces of Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon and Northern Samar.

The Easterlies/localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro. The localized thunderstorms are expected over Quezon, Zambales, and Bataan in the morning.

Rainy weather condition are also expected over Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, parts of Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and Calabarzon in the afternoon.

“Asahan na ang mga pulo-pulong pag-ulan. Magdala ng payong at posible itong magdala ng minsang malakas na hangin at malakas na pag-ulan,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms but generally fair weather is expected over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

No tropical cyclones are expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility until the weekend.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
