This is the reaction of Sharon Cuneta to Miel’s coming out as a queer.
SHARON CUNETA – Miel Pangilinan marked her first Pride Month as she comes out freely as a queer and Sharon Cuneta has this reaction.
June is Pride Month to commemorate the years of struggle for civil rights and the ongoing pursuit of equal justice under the law for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community. And her first time celebrating this is Miel Pangilinan – finally free and happier as she comes out as a member.
“It only feels right that I post this at the point I’m [at] now, where I’m comfortable enough in who I am and who I love, and how I choose to present,” says Miel in her post. Many people expressed their love and support for her and many also commended her bravery. It’s not every day that someone gets the chance to do this freeing thing.
As much as we all know, being an LGBT member, although tolerated and accepted in society today, remains a big deal, especially to those who have traditional beliefs. But Miel is loved and supported not just by her followers and friends but also by her parents, Senator Kiko Pangilinan and Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
In an Instagram post, Sharon expressed that she already knew her daughter would be ridiculed after confessing but she couldn’t care less about it. What matters to her is the sense of freedom it will bring her daughter and the happier state it would give her.
She believes Miel will always be a good person and will have a good heart. She also believes that God does not make mistakes. It’s not her daughter’s choice to be like that because “she just is” based on narrative.
“She will certainly be treated no different by us her family and those who truly love her. I will love her just the same, if not more,” she wrote.
