Cebu Province Will No Longer Require Wearing Of Face Mask Outdoors

Wearing of face mask outdoors in Cebu Province is now optional.

CEBU PROVINCE – Cebu Governor signed an executive order stating that the wearing of face masks outside is no longer required.

When the pandemic began over two years ago, the primary requirement for people is to wear a face mask in order to avoid getting infected. Safety health protocols were imposed along with maintaining social distancing.

There was also a phase where people were forced to stay in their homes for several months and when going out, movements were restricted.

But now, the world is starting to return to normalcy but in new conditions. The wearing of face masks is maintained. And in Cebu Province, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia on Thursday, June 9, 2022, issued Executive Order (EO) No. 16.

The executive order stated that the use of face masks is no longer required outdoors but will be required in closed and airconditioned places.

“The wearing of face masks shall be required only in closed and/or air-conditioned spaces. The use of face masks shall be optional in well-ventilated and open spaces,” Garcia said in her EO. Meanwhile, people with Covid-19 symptoms such as coughs, colds, fever, and runny nose must wear face masks still to avoid infecting other people.
