PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (May 25)

PAGASA Says ITCZ to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rainy condition over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (May 25, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting southern section of Mindanao. It will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm over Davao Region.

“Dulot po ng intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ, ine-expect po natin ‘yang mga kalat-kalat po na pag-ulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat sa bahagi po ‘yan ng Davao Region,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The ITCZ will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar.

The Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Benguet as well as the rest of Mindanao.

The entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

However, generally fair weather will prevail over Luzon including Metro Manila due to the monsoon break.

“Tayo po ngayon ay nasa tinatawag natin na monsoon break or ‘yung period po kung saan mas mababa ‘yung tsansa ng mga pag-ulan. At ayon po sa ating latest analysis, ito po ay magpapatuloy hanggang sa susunod na dalawang araw,” Castañeda added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight.
