PAGASA Says Habagat to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Condition Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (May 24)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the ‘habagat’ will bring cloudy to rainy condition over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (May 24, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Southwest Monsoon will be affecting the western section of Luzon. It will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar.

“Magiging maulap ang kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorms sa Palawan. Samantala, sa mga nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, kasama ang Metro Manila, ay magiging bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap ang kalangitan na may tsansa ng mga pag-ulan, lalo na sa bandang hapon o gabi,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Benguet as well as Visayas and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience the same weather condition.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over western section of Luzon will be moderate to rough. Extreme northern Luzon will experience a moderate coastal water condition while the rest of the country will have a slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
