This is what Senator Grace Poe and the late Susan Roces talked about before the latter died.
SUSAN ROCES – Late legendary actress Susan Roces had this conversation with Senator Grace Poe before she passed away.
A couple of days ago, Senator Grace Poe announced that her mother, legendary actress and Queen of Philippines Movies, Susan Roces, passed away. The show business industry mourned over the great loss and Lovi Poe, the senator’s sister on the father’s side, paid tribute to the veteran actress. She sent love and prayers to the family of her Ate Grace.
Many other personalities expressed grief and sadness over the death of Roces. She’s remembered by many because of her kindness, good heart, and moral lessons she would generously impart to other artists she has worked with.
The ABS-CBN company, which also grieved, expressed in an official statement, “Hindi ka namin malilimutan, Tita Susan. Maraming Salamat at paalam, aming mahal na Kapamilya.”
And just recently, in an interview, Poe revealed that her mother died due to cardiopulmonary arrest at 80 years old. The senator added that before she passed away, the bill about abandoned children they have been fighting for so long finally got passed. And this is the topic of their last conversation.
According to the senator, the past couple of weeks has brought a lot of changes in her mother. They used to call each other almost every day and the length of their talk would always last over an hour. She also refuses to eat and those were the indication they took that her time is coming near.
And her mother’s last wish is based on a report from PEP: “So, nung dinala namin sa ospital, ang ipinagbibilin niya palagi, yung mga apo niya na kailangan daw dalhin namin sa Baguio yung mga bata. ‘Tapos ang bahay daw ng papa ko doon, ayusin ko daw para yung mga bata puwede daw magbakasyon doon. Yun ang mga naiisip niya.”
