“Let’s accept final result, brace for bigger fight,” says VP Leni Robredo to her supporters.
LENI ROBREDO – Outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo comforts her disheartened supporters over the results of this year’s elections.
As of May 10, morning, former Sen. Bongbong Marcos received landslide votes. He earned more than 31 million votes followed by Vice President Leni Robredo whose votes reached more than 14.7 million based on the partial and unofficial results. In a previous article, amid the counting and seeing the huge gap difference, Robredo expressed her gratitude to all her supporters.
She thanked them for believing in her and for supporting her plans for the country. She is thankful for the various creative ways they did just to show their support for her. And just recently, she released another statement comforting her heartbroken and disheartened supporters.
Although the final results are not in yet, she told her supporters to just accept it whatever it may be. She believes there are bigger fights ahead and that is what they should brace for. Their fight does not end here, she stressed this.
“The fight does not end with this elections because many have become enlightened. This is a fight for good governance. Even if we don’t make it, I don’t consider it a loss because we have achieved so much in this campaign, such as the biggest rally we had in Naga,” she said according to a GMA report during her speech at the Metropolitan Cathedral and Parish of St. John the Evangelist.
The silver lining she’s seeing in the situation is that she gets to have more time to spend in Naga but it does not mean that the “fight for good governance has come to an end”. She assures her supporters that they will investigate if there are any anomalous activities in a judicious manner.
