The video footage of some poll watchers asking the Filipino voters to turn over their ballots to them elicits reactions online.
The Facebook page “Bakekangs Motoventures” has shared the video footage of some poll watchers asking the Filipino voters to turn over their ballots to them while waiting for the vote-counting machine to be fixed.
The video immediately spread like a wildfire online and garnered various reactions from social media users.
In the video, it can be seen that a female organizer is telling the voters to wait patiently for the vote-counting machine to be fixed but asked voters to turn over their ballots and leave it to them if they want to leave.
In the other video, other poll watchers were also giving the same instruction to the precincts that were experiencing the same problem. The voters also expressed their dismay to those poll watchers.
Other Filipinos complained and explained that Comelec advised the voters not to allow anyone to touch their ballots to prevent cheating and irregularities.

According to the rules of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), voters can wait for the VCM malfunction to be resolved before inserting the ballot into the machine. Voters can also surrender the ballot to the electoral board.
However, former Commission on Elections Commissioner Luie Guia said that voters should sign a waiver of their right to be issued a voter’s receipt.
