PAGASA Says LPA, ITCZ & Frontal System to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area embedded along ITCZ will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Monday (May 2, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA embedded along the intertropical convergence zone and the frontal system will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted 40 kilometers south-southwest of General Santos City. The Easterlies will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

“Dahil sa epekto ng low pressure area at ITCZ, sa Caraga, Davao Region, at Soccsksargen ay magiging maulap ang kalangitan na may mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorm,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The frontal system will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands caused by Frontal System.

The Easterlies/Localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora.

The entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro will also experience similar weather conditions.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience good and fair weather condition with chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough while the remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
