JUST IN: Bongbong Marcos To Not Attend Comelec Presidential Panel Interview

Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Turns Down Comelec Panel Interview Invitation

BONGBONG MARCOS – The camp of the former Senator announced that he decided not to attend the Comelec presidential panel interview.

Ten (10) candidates are vying for the presidency in the upcoming 2022 Elections which are set to take place in May 9. One of the presidential bets is former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. He is the standard-bearer of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

Undeniably, Marcos Jr.’s presidential bid is controversial as it triggered the issues surrounding Martial Law and the regime of the former dictator, their family’s alleged ill-gotten wealth, and his tax cases. Several petitions were filed before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) seeking his disqualification from the presidential race.

All petitions were junked by Comelec. The poll body sponsored debate events but former Sen. Bongbong Marcos was no show to the said events. For the supposed 3rd part of the series of debates, the poll body decided to have a presidential panel interview.

Marcos Jr.’s spokesman, Atty. Vic Rodriguez, said that Marcos Jr. wants to extend his appreciation to Comelec for the invitation to the panel interview that was set on May 1, 2022. He also wants to acknowledge the importance of the said event but he wants to “conclude the entire 90-day campaign period with visits to his supporters and compliances with previous commitments”.

The former Senator is leading the presidential race as per the results of the latest survey conducted by Pulse Asia. He is endorsed by several national political parties. His running-mate is presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio who is the vice-presidential bet of Lakas-CMD.
