TITO SOTTO PLATFORMS – Here are the accomplishments of Vicente “Tito” Sotto III and his plans if he wins the May 2022 Elections.

Vicente “Tito” Castelo Sotto III has served the Congress for almost 2 decades. He is the running-mate of Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.

Several other members of his family are making bids for public office. His nephew Vico Sotto and son Gian Sotto are both seeking reelection as mayor of Pasig City and vice mayor of Quezon City, respectively. Nina Sotto, Tito’s nieve-in-law, is running to replace her husband Wahoo Sotto as Parañaque 2nd District councilor.

Personal Background:

Tito Sotto was born on August 24, 1948. His parents were Dr. Herminia Castelo Sotto and Marcelino Antonio Ojeda Sotto Sr. His siblings are Valmar, Marvic Valentin, and Marcelino Antonio Jr.

Tito studied at Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros, Manila for his elementary, high school, and college education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English. He is also a graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

The senator is married to Helen Gamboa, an actress, singer, and beauty queen. they have 4 children: Romina, Diorella Maria, Gian Carlo and Ciara.

Accomplishments:

Before being elected to the Senate in 1992, Tito Sotto served as Quezon City’s vice mayor starting in 1988. He is also the one who founded and organized the Quezon City Anti-Drug Council. The 29th Senate President has filed a total of 190 legislative bills. He is the principal author of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.

Continue the Duterte administration’s campaign against illegal drugs but with a “holistic approach” that includes prevention and rehabilitation

  • Anti-insurgency

Supports the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict but says its officials who make “irresponsible” statements should be dismissed.

  • Budget Reform

Supports Lacson’s proposed Senate Bill No.23 or the proposed Budget Reform for Village Empowerment (BRAVE) Act. The bill seeks to establish an annual Local Development Fund to assist local government units to implement three-year development plans.
