Leni Robredo’s Camp Breaks Silence on Presscon of Other Presidential Bets

Camp of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo Reacts To Presscon at the Manila Peninsula Hotel

LENI ROBREDO – The camp of the Vice President broke their silence at the press conference held by other presidential bets at the Manila Peninsula Hotel.

Amid the Elections 2022 drawing near, the social media platforms are currently filled with reactions to the press conference recently held by three (3) presidential candidates at the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati City. The said event was held on Easter Sunday.

Presidential bets Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Senator Ping Lacson, and former defense secretary Norberto Gonzales issued statements against presidential candidate and incumbent Vice Pres. Leni Robredo during the presscon. Mayor Isko called for Robredo to withdraw from the presidential race.

Robredo is the 2nd placer in the results of the latest survey conducted by Pulse Asia. Former Senator Bongbong Marcos leads the race and only he and the Vice President have double digits.

Moreno claimed that not all of Marcos Jr.’s supporters are loyalists and there is a possibility that some of them only hate the yellows. He called for Robredo to be a hero and withdraw from the race. He also stressed that they are thinking over the possibility that he is the thing blocking the pipe.

Gonzales expressed his belief that the candidate that could fight the possible win of Marcos Jr. better is coming from the 3rd, 4th, or 5th place in the survey result and not the 2nd. Lacson expressed his disbelief on almost 50% of the Filipino population supporting Marcos Jr.

The said presscon held by three (3) presidential candidates at the Manila Peninsula Hotel earned backlash from several netizens on social media. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, for the camp of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo, “silence would have had more depth”.

Robredo’s spokesperson Atty. Barry Gutierrez raised questions asking about who benefited from the move of the other presidential candidates and what is best for the Filipino people.

“Silence would have had more depth; at the very least, it would exhibit less self-entitlement, fragility, and toxicity,” Gutierrez said.

Following the presidential candidates at the Manila Peninsula Hotel stressing their determination to push through their candidacy, the camp of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo stressed that they wish “only the best” for the presidential bets who will push through their bid. Based on the report, the Vice President’s camp maintains focus on its goals.

“We remain focused on showing our people that a Robredo presidency will mean a victory for all Filipinos,” Gutierrez said.
