Bela Padilla addressed the issue on social media bashing
Multihyphenate Bela Padilla shared her thoughts on online bashing that many celebrities are receiving.
Bela acknowledges the fact that bashing on social media has been rampant, especially criticisms against celebrities or showbiz personalities. She also admitted that there are time when negative comments are already “nakakapikon” but there where those times when she is just ignoring the bashing.
For Bela, criticizing celebrities is never normal thing to do, especially when the criticism is an attack against the personal life of a certain celebrity, based on the article in PUSH.
“Kasi at the end of the day, kami, trabaho lang din namin ito ginagawa namin. Kung nasa office po ba tayo, is it okay na naninita tayo o namumuna tayo ng mga tao? Di ba, merong HR (Human Resource Department) sa opisina pag may mga ganitong situation?” the actress said adding that celebrities do not have someone who they can talk to for their predicaments.
Bela Pailla also shared her message to those who are fond of bashing celebrities. “Sana, to begin with, kung hindi mo kayang sabihin ang isang bagay sa harap ng isang tao, huwag mo sabihin sa internet. Huwag mong i-comment sa Instagram page ng mga tao,” she said.
The actress also stressed that celebrities are also going through personal issues in life, especially amid the pandemic. She said that at this time, it is no longer appropriate to say mean words against other people that would make them sad and would affect them emotionally.
Meanwhile, Bela Padilla shared that her character in her new movie 366, which she also wrote and directed, is different from the previous roles that she did.
“My character here is so different from all the films I’ve done before kasi strong and spunky sila. Eh, dito sa 366, as June, I play someone very fragile who needs love after she loses her boyfriend Pao, played by JC. I find it so difficult to move on and Zanjoe as Marco volunteers to help me as a proxy boyfriend,” she said.
