OLIVIA RODRIGO – Singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo surprised a Portland crowd with a cover of Avril Lavigne’s smashing hit, “Complicated.”

Olivia Isabel Rodrigo is a Filipino-American singer-songwriter and actress. She released her debut single “Drivers License” last year, which broke various records.

Her song became one of the best-selling songs of the year, launching her to mainstream fame. Olivia followed it with singles “Good 4 U” and “Déjà Vu.”

The debut studio album of the 19-year-old singer, Sour, topped charts globally and gained critical acclaim, earning her three Grammy Awards. She took home best new artist, pop solo performance for her song “Drivers License,” and best pop vocal album for “Sour.”

In her acceptance speech, Olivia expressed her gratitude to her family, collaborators, and fans. She said her Grammy award is her “biggest dream come true.”

“Thank you so much to the Recording Academy. This is my biggest dream come true. Dan, you are the best friend, collaborator, person that I could ever ask for. This is all because of you, so thank you,” she said.

Fresh from her wins earlier this week, the young singer-songwriter is out on the road for her “SOUR” concert tour. She started the tour in Portland, Oregon.

Olivia lived out every pop-punk singer’s dream by performing Avril Lavigne’s 2022 hit, “Complicated.” She has acknowledged Lavigne’s influence on her album and songs.

This next song is a song I really love by the pop-punk princess herself, Avril Lavigne,” she said onstage before singing Lavigne’s song atop a grand piano.

Last December, Avril Lavigne presented Olivia with the Songwriter of the Year Award at the Variety Hitmakers Brunch in Los Angeles. The younger singer described that moment as “so surreal.”
