RURU MADRID – Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid shared his short and raw cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s breakout smash ‘Drivers License’
Fil-Am singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo has been topping charts of music streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple with her single “Drivers License.” The song was released on January 8 and it dominated Spotify’s Global Top 200 chart and Apple Music’s Top 100: Global chart.
The music video shows the singer driving her car with her driver’s license as she recalls a painful heartbreak. The song was reportedly inspired by her personal heartbreak experience. As of this writing, the video has garnered 95 million views on Youtube.
GMA-7 actor Ruru Madrid posted a short cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License.” He shared his cover on his Instagram account on Tuesday, February 2.
The 23-year-old actor is seen relaxed and singing with a dog on his lap. It came with a caption, “Drivers license (short/raw cover) I just heard this song last night pero sobrang na lss agad ako. So I decided to make a cover. Practice lang.”

Ruru Madrid’s latest song cover got thumbs up from his fellow celebrities like Barbie Forteza and EA Guzman.
“Siyembre i-co-cover mo ‘yan. Hindi pwedeng hindeeeee @rurumadrid8,” Barbie wrote.
“Dito ko! Idolo,” EA commented.

Ruru Madrid previously shared a clip of him singing a cover of BTS’ hit song “Dynamite,” V’s “Sweet Night” and Pink Sweats’ “At My Worst.” He has also shown off his dance skills on TikTok where he dressed up similar to the K-pop group’s retro fashion.
