Jay-R Fulfills Dream To Sing ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ At NBA

RnB singer Jay-R fulfilled one of his dreams and it is to sing the US National Anthem Star-Spangled Banner at an NBA game.

The Filipino-American singer has brought pride to his “kababayans” when he shared that he performed before the spectators of the Clippers versus Jazz game at Crypto Arena last March 29.

He said that it is his first time doing this but he has been dreaming of this moment since he was a kid. “What a dream come true. But the dream doesn’t stop there. Let’s keep it going!!” the RnB singer wrote that appeared to be hinting at the possibility of having more stints like this in the future.

In the video that he posted on his YouTube channel, Jay-R was introduced as an international singer and the Philippines’ King of RnB. Prior to his performance at the NBA game, the singer shared how he prepared before this stint in his Instagram post.

In his IG Reel, he shared that he was “kinda nervous but kinda not” because it is what he lives for. He worked out first then went to a store with his wife Mica Javier to buy his outfit for the “big night.” The singer also shared the Clipper merch that he received and the jersey that he got was “Filipino style.”

“Twas an honor to represent the Philippines for Filipino Heritage Night for the NBA. I hope I made all the Filipinos in the house proud,” the King of RnB said.
