For several terms, Roxas also served as a Senator and Congressman in Capiz. He was the running mate of PNoy in 2010 and he ran for president in 2016 with VP Leni’s Robredo as his running mate.

Mar Roxas said that his 2016 running mate is qualified to hold the highest position in the Philippine government, based on the report from Balita.

The husband of Korina Sanchez said the VP Leni is intellectually capable of the position and that she has the heart. Roxas has formally endorsed Robredo to the local officials in Roxas City, named after his grandfather former president Manuel A. Roxas, the capital city of Capiz.

He encouraged the people of Roxas City to support VP Leni as how they had supported her when she ran for vice president six years ago and how the people of Bicol had supported him back then.

The province of Capiz and the rest of Panay Island are considered Robredo’s bailiwick. Last February, VP Leni Robredo and her running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan conducted a political event there and they were warmly received by their supporters.

Meanwhile, back in 2021, Korina Sanchez was asked if her husband was planning to have his political comeback. The seasoned broadcaster said that Mar Roxas has no plan to run for any position in the 2022 elections.
