Korina Sanchez Says Husband Mar Roxas Has No Plans to Run in 2022 Election

Veteran journalist Korina Sanchez confirmed that her husband Mar Roxas has no plans to run in incoming election in May 2022.

Mar Roxas’ wife Korina Sanchez claimed in an interview with Rated Korina anchor Cristy Ferminute that her husband has no plans to run for national office again in 2022. Mar, according to Korina, always answers no when she asks if he is still interested in a government position again.

“Minsan sumagot kami ng isang form, kasi ini-enroll ang mga anak sa online school. So sabi, ‘O, ano ang ilalagay ko rito sa work… occupation?’ Sabi nya sa akin, ‘Ilagay mo diyan, retired. Sabi ko naman, ‘Feeling mo lolo ka, ganun?’ Sabi naman niya uli, ‘Semi-retired,’” Korina shared.

Korina went on to say that her spouse no longer has any plans, because if he did, it should have been made by now. According to the veteran broadcaster, if you truly want to help others, you don’t need to be in a position to do it – whether it’s one person or a hundred.

They are currently stated to be assisting in several community pantries. Korina continued, “There are so many ways to help. You don’t really need a government position to do that. ”

Korina previously stated in 2020 that Mar will leave politics. Mar has run in three national elections, all of which he has lost. Jejormar Binay, the mayor of Makati City, defeated him for vice president in 2010.

Mar ran for president in 2016, but was defeated by incumbent President Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City. Mar ran for senator again in the 2019 elections, but he was not fortunate enough to make it into the Top 12.
