Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Jr. Speaks on Fight Vs. Corruption
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer said that corruption cannot be stopped tagging it as “human condition”.
The May 2022 Election is fast approaching and the candidates are on a double time before the campaign period is over. They are all in the pursuit to reach as many Filipinos as they can for the campaign. Political rallies and campaign sorties are held in different areas in the country daily.
Aside from the campaign rallies, debates and interviews of the candidates are also taking place. Recently, former Senator Bongbong Marcos graced an interview that was part of the PTV program called “Chatroom”.
Marcos Jr.’s presidential bid is undeniably controversial. It triggered issues surrounding his family’s alleged ill-gotten wealth, the regime of his late father, and his tax evasion cases. He is running as the standard -bearer of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
The former Senator refused to attend the debate organized by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, during his interview for “Chatroom”, the former Senator spoke about corruption.
The topic was raised when he was asked about which of the Duterte administration’s anti-corruption program he is planning to sustain if he wins president in the upcoming election. According to the report, former Sen. Bongbong Marcos expressed his belief that corruption cannot be stopped. He stressed that it is not a Filipino condition but a “human condition”.
The former Senator said that there will always be someone who cannot think straight and will do some foolishness. According to him, what is really needed is to choose a person is really excellent and not corrupt. He stressed that it is important to set examples.
“Kailangan mag-set ng example. Eh kami, hindi namin ginagawa ‘yan. H’wag n’yong gagawin ‘yan, kundi tanggal kayo. Hindi lang tanggal kayo, ikukulong ka namin,” Marcos Jr. said.
